How to make Plain White Bread

- put milk, water, butter into a bowl and heat until 70C (approx - don't boil, but it should be fairly hot)
- in your mixing bowl (from stand mixer, you need something pretty heavy duty, or strong arms), add 2 cups of flour, salt, sugar, and yeast
- add heated milk/water/butter to mixing bowl, and mix on high for 2-3 minutes, while mixing in 1 more cup of flour
- add remaining flour, knead (in machine or by hand) until the dough has a plastic feel to it (stretchy, doesn't tear apart)
- remove dough from bowl, cut into appropriate sizes - a piece the size of a fist will make a loaf of bread, smaller can be used for dinner rolls, baguette, etc
- using vegetable oil, lightly coat the inside of loaf pan (or surface of oven tray)
- cover with a towel, and let the dough rise until it is approximately doubled in size (1 hour or so)
- bake at 375F for about 45 minutes - you can test by tapping the bread, if it sounds hollow, it is almost done
- allow to cool completely before slicing or cutting open (otherwise the dough will still be soft)
