- good quality apple juice, mediocre red wine, or mead
- cinnamon stick
- cardamom pod
- star anise
- dried orange peel
- whole cloves
How to make Mulling Spices
Great for mulled wine; great for apple cider. I used a large wire basket, like a giant tea bob, to hold my spices so that I don't have to strain them out before drinking.
- Bring the beverage of your choice and the whole spices to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to lowest setting and steep to desired strength.
