Japanese beef brisket curry

Ingredients

  • 600 grams of beef brisket, cut into chunks
  • 2 small carrots, peeled and cut into bite size sections
  • 4 small potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 big onions, sliced
  • 1 japanese curry block
  • 1 table spoon of oil
  • 4 cups of water

Marinate:

  • 1 table spoon of light soy sauce
  • 1 table spoon of sake

How to make Japanese beef brisket curry


  1. Mix marinate, add meat and refrigerate minimum 1 hour (could be overnight).
  2. Heat oil in the wok and fry onions, add meat fry till it changes colour, add remaining vegetables, pour in water and add curry block.
  3. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer about 1,5 to 2 hours, till beef is tender.
