Well I am lactose tolerant and love a creamy sorbet! As a matter of fact, when I make this I'll be using heavy cream in place of the milk.

While sorbet does refer to a frozen desert that contains primarily non-dairy ingredients, there are many sorbets that can be made with milk. It is your responsibility to check the ingredient list to deal with your own dietary requirements.

To the author of Kaffir Lime Sorbet, Your dessert sounds delicious!Please know that your recipe is a SHERBERT-not a sorbet. The major difference is the DAIRY. Sorbets have none. I urge you to adjust your title, so when someone serves it, their dessert does not affect a lactose or dairy allergy person! I love desserts, but cannot eat dairy (lactose). It would be a REAL bummer to take a bite of your dessert, which again, sounds delicious, and end up in severe agony. Thanks and sorry for the down note. Sincerely, CGenteman
