Ingredients
home-made panko cooks really well when fried, and gives it that extra crunch and freshness you don't get with store-bought panko.
- white bread
- pork chop
- corn flour
- egg
How to make panko + tonkatsu
- put white bread into food processor through grater, or whichever way to crumble into small pieces.
- place onto baking sheet on baking tray and grill in oven - shake occasionally
remove before it turns golden brown, but when it has become dry and crunchy - i.e. panko bread crumbs!
batter pork chop till soft
- dip in corn flour, then egg, the cover with panko breadcrumbs
- fry in pan with a generous layer of hot oil till brown on both sides.
