Ingredients
- 1-2 boiled octopus arms (about 200 g) - spare yourself the labour of boiling the fresh octopus for hours to achieve the right softness - buy it boiled!
- 4 medium sized potatoes
- coarse sea salt
- paprika (pimentón)
- olive oil
How to make Octopus Galician style
This dish plays an essential part in Galician cuisine and has to be prepared in only certain ways, which I do not. But then I do not want to be a food fascist and only enjoy a nice dish which to my tastebuds is near enough to the original.
- Boil the potatoes, peel them and cut them in 1 cm slices
- cut the boiled octopus arms in slices as well
- put the octopus on top of the potatoes
- season with the coarse salt and pimentón
- splash some olive oil on top

dosdne saysIn any decently sorted supermarket, look in the section of fresh fish or ask for "pulpo cocido", it either comes packed in plastic or if there is a fresh fish stand they will have some there normally. (any Corte Inglés, Caprabo, Mercadona, Carrefour etc. should have it)
