How to make Chop Suey
Drizzle some regular cooking oil in a hot wok and start to saute garlic and onions.
Put in the pork and let it saute for about a minute stirring around the oil, letting some of its fat to render. Then I add the cauliflower and stir fry a bit.
When the cauliflower is half way done, I add in the cabbage and the seasonings (salt, pepper, soy sauce & sugar) I stir for a few seconds then I add in the stock to let the cabbage steam and cook.
At this point I thicken my sauce with some cornstarch dissolved in a little bit of water. Then I add in the rest of the veggies, stirring them in a bit until their colors get bright and their done. A dash of sesame oil before turning off the heat give this dish an additional kick. Can be served on top of steamed rice or egg noodles. Enjoy!
