Ingredients

1 cup fermented rice
1 tsp yeast
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup warm water
100gm rice flour
1/4 cup sugar

How to make Steam yeast rice cake


1. Put the fermented rice in a blender and blend with milk till fine.
2. Add the rest of ingredients and stir till smooth.
3. Leave it to rise for 2 hours.
4. Heat a steamer and steam for 20 mins to 30 mins.


NOTE:
The fermented rice is made from sugar and cooked rice , add yeast. leave to ferment for 2 days . longer days will turn into alcohol and become rice wine.

    This steam cake is made from fermented rice which is blended finely before adding to rice flour. well, before making this cake you have to make the fermented rice. In another recipe , if you dont have fermented rice, you can use just rice flour , adding double the amount. Also add soda water like 7-up or ice cream soda flavour instead of milk.

    i tried to make this dish but it wasnt very fluffy it didnt even seem to rise...maybe i didnt use enough rice flour....it still taste good though!btw i steamed it for 30 minutes and checked it and it looked like custard.should i have steamed it longer?

    you have to used high flame to steam your cake so it will rise well, always put the cake after the steamer water boils . Slow heat will not make the cake rise well. nothing to do with the rice flour
