Ingredients

  • Firm tofu
  • Potato starch
  • Peanut oil (groundnut)

How to make Aburage (deep-fried diced tofu)


  1. Cube the tofu

Tip: If you find the brand of tofu you use falls apart, try freezing it overnight. This helps remove the excess water and imparts a firmer texture.

  1. Dust the cubes on all sides with potato starch

  2. Deep fry until golden brown

This is really just an ingredient for other recipes, but you can serve with some kind of chilli or ginger sauce if you want a quick meal.
