Ingredients
- 2 ripe papayas
- 3 carrots
- 2 cooking onions
- 1 stalk celery (optional)
- 1 block of tofu
- 1 package of pork ribs
- 1 teaspoon of salt
How to make Papaya Soup
This is a favourite recipe of mine. My parents used to make this for us when we were younger.
Step 1: - Peel the skin from the papayas. Cut in half and remove the seeds.
Step 2: Add the pork ribs and about 4 cups of water to a pot. Bring to a boil. Pour out the water and wash the ribs. (This is to remove as much excess fat as possible.)
Step 3: Fill up a pot with cold water and turn up the heat. Put the pork ribs back in.
Step 4: Cut up onions, carrots, celery into 3cm pieces. Add to the pot of water.
Cut the papaya into pieces and add the pot of water.
Step 5: Bring to a boil. Cut the tofu into about 8 pieces and add to the soup.
Step 6: Add salt to taste. Serve hot.
