Ingredients

  • 2 TB olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 TB capers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Sprinkling of red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (35 oz) of whole tomatoes
  • 1 can tuna
  • enough pasta for everyone

How to make Tuna Pasta

  1. Mince onion, chop garlic
  2. Start water boiling for pasta
  3. Fry the onion, garlic, and red pepper in a skillet with the olive oil. When cooked, add the capers with a little of the juice from the jar.
  4. Add the tomatoes by breaking them over the can and letting the juice and seed drain out, then put in the skillet. Use your spatula to break them up more, squish them, etc. Save the remaining puree in the can.
  5. Water should be boiling by now. Start cooking the pasta.
  6. Cook sauce on medium heat until thickened. If it's looking too thin or dry, add some of the puree from the can.
  7. When the pasta is almost done, add the tuna to the sauce. Stir in the tuna, but not too much -- just mix it in.
  8. drain pasta, mix a little sauce into it, and then serve with the rest of the sauce on top.
