Ingredients
1 Can of Red Beans( drained and cleaned)
1 Onion
1 Cup diced Tomatoes
1 Tbsp Mustard
A pinch of Asafoetida(optional)
Salt as needed
2 Tbsp Chilli Powder ( or Substitute 3 Green Chillies)
1 Tbsp Garam Masala ( Indian Spice Mix)
2 Tbsp Oil
How to make Simple Red Beans Curry Recipe
Hi all... this is the first recipe I am posting here. This is one of my quick recipes. Easy to make. I think I will have to improve my presentation skills a LOT... lol... anyhow, on with my recipe.
First chop the Onions to small pieces.
Heat the Oil in a pan till it just starts to smoke. Then add the Onions and saute for 3 minutes. Then add the tomatoes and continue to Saute for another 3-4 minutes.
Now add the salt, Spice mix, Asafoetida to the pan and continue to saute for another 3-4 minute. Note that if you are using green peppers now is the time to add them.
Now add the chilli powder to the pan and mix in the pan. Then add 2 cups of water and let boil.
Now add the cleaned beans and continue to fry for another 5 minutes. As soon as the consitenct thickens remove from the stove.
A simple Beans Curry is good to eat. Adjust the chilli according to your preference. Serve hot with Rice or with Indian Bread.
